2nd gathering

tonight we had our 2nd annual gathering for the SOT team 3 people. attendance: peter, ivy, isaiah, klessis, lena, rachel, matthais, lydia, grace, jeremiah, keng hoe, lixia, brian, gary, haw hann, gina. absentees: cindy, damian, neil. (original team in bold) this year we had new friends that joined us for the first time. lixia is keng hoe's wife-to-be and gary is good friend who studied in the same SOT year. too bad cindy (team leader) is not feeling well so she can't attend, damian got to work OT and neil is in ghana.

the group is definitely growing. new members are added every year. natural increase by marriage and birth. today we had several good news to annouce in the gathering. cindy and klessis are pregnant. keng hoe & lixia, haw hann & gina are getting married. congrats to all!

we met at 3.30pm @ superbowl marina south. only peter, ivy was able to join me and kless. soon lydia and the 2 kids came and we bowled 4 games each. the last time i bowled was maybe 2 years ago, so this time round i didn't play well at all. 4 games average was about 145. i used to be able to have an average of 165. kless joking reminded me that we nearly planned to buy a personal ball and bag at one time. haha. when we are about to finish, matthias, rachel, gina and haw hann arived. then we went over to dragon village for steamboat buffet dinner.

as usual, we went about taking the same old kind of food for the steamboat, but then lydia commented that the food we took was so boring. i was really confused. what does she means by boring? isn't the food the same as usual. then she took over the cooking and gave out instructions what to prepare and she started to cook one of the most delicious prawn bbq i had ever tasted in my life. proof of photo for you to judge.

we had a great time of fellowship. finally keng hoe and lixia arrvied and so did lena. lena was late because she went over to JB to purchase some winter clothes for her upcoming mission trip to china. she is going back again the 2nd time, to minister to the university students there. when keng hoe had some time to down his food, we took out the cake and celebrated his birthday. it is his 27th birthday (4 Jan)

i feel the entire gathering was a success. we had a good time of fellowship, good food. next year we are arrowing matthias to be the chairman. peter had been the alumni chairman for 2 years already. i think i will still be the self-appointed secretary for the group. haha. doing the best that i know lor.

lastly, i pray that all the people in this group will have a wonderful 2006, full of blessings in all areas. for those who are still single, i pray that you will find your partner soon. for those getting married this year, i pray that you will have more than enough for everything. for those pregnant, have a healthy baby. for the rest, i pray that we will be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath.
